Through this experience, Mark gained valuable insight into automatic door systems, installation standards, product performance, and the needs of Australian businesses.

After years of hands-on industry involvement, Mark and his brother established a small installation business specialising in automatic doors. The company was originally registered as Automatic Door Installation Services, beginning as a two-man operation focused on installing and servicing automatic door systems across Australia.

The business quickly became successful. However, through regular installation and servicing work, the team began to identify recurring issues with many of the products available in the market. These challenges inspired ADIS to look beyond installation and begin developing its own automatic door system — one that would be stronger, more reliable, easier to service, and more user-friendly.

This was not an overnight process. The design took years to develop and refine, with many prototypes tested along the way. Eventually, ADIS created a unique modular automatic door system designed for heavy-duty commercial use. Its simple control design, reliable construction, and service-friendly layout gave ADIS the confidence to stand behind its product with a 3-year parts warranty — a clear statement to the industry about the strength and reliability of the system.

This innovation led to the creation of Autoslide — a domestic door automation system designed to bring convenience, accessibility, and smart door technology into homes.

Autoslide has since grown into an international success, with worldwide patents and trademarks supporting its unique design. Established in the USA market, Autoslide has continued to expand and build partnerships with major residential door manufacturers, helping lead the future of domestic door automation.
